  • Cheesed off with Cheeselets – More Like CheeseLESS!

    cheesed off with CheeseletsWe always look forward to cracking open our first tube of the new Cheeselets season and this year United Biscuits have taken the biscuit – literally, about half of them by our reckoning – we’re cheesed off with Cheeselets!

    It’s not all bad, the useless opening pull strip that always breaks off is gone (hurrah) and they’ve changed the flavour again – they taste different, a bit crispier, but still good.
    Our kids pointed out they’re 40% less fat… less salt… less everything because the biscuits are 40% gone!

    And it’s not just one tube, we checked several, and it’s not because they’ve compacted down either, if anything there’s fewer broken biscuits than normal. Frankly we’re cheesed off with Cheeselets!

  • ASOS Rant – Bedroom Affiliates & CantBarsed.com

    ASOS rant alert! We were the last “ASOS Affiliate of the Year” before ASOS sulked and took their ball home. We’ve been outed by ASOS Pearly King Nick Robinson as one of the “grubby little people in grubby studios growing income at our expense” which seems a tad harsh given ASOS invited me to their London HQ, took me out to lunch and encouraged us to make more sales.

    This all happened back in the days before the ASOS affiliate program evolved into a pointless exercise and, by no co-incidence, shortly after affiliate marketing superhero Jess Luthi escaped her corporate shackles and took the ASOS brain cell with her.

  • Nocturnal Tendencies of Teenagers

    Rant about the nocturnal tenancies of my 16 year old son who is still in bed and it’s 2.30 in the afternoon and it’s really winding me up.
    It’s not just the waste of daylight hours but when I’m in my happy place updating my sites in the early hours there he is mooching around tinkering with things, using up my bandwidth downloading stuff and generally spoiling my most productive working hours.

    Will he grow out of these nocturnal tendencies or is it me that needs to change my attitude/approach, suggestions welcomed!

  • Come On England!

    I’ve always thought of Michael Owen as an honest player but given he never looked fully fit there’s a nagging he knew he wasn’t ready to play in the World Cup but kept that to himself because he desperately wanted to play. I hope I’m wrong.

    I thought England played well against Equador on Sunday and it will be a really interesting encounter against Portugal and Scolari. If we can improve enough to win that match without extra time or penalties we’re in with a real chance of winning!

    We work hard to organise exclusive promotions with other top UK sites for all our visitors but recently we’ve found our promo codes popping up on other sites!

    That’s not cricket, it’s stealing! Our codes are nearly always “cantBarsed” or a simple variation so it’s obvious who they are intended for.

    We’ve got no problem with visitors sharing our codes with each other, in fact we encourage everyone to share our newsletters, but when other webmasters post our codes on their sites we’re not happy, we’re Mr angry.

    If you do see our codes on other sites a tip off about the rip off would be appreciated. Rant over.
